Here’s the quick backstory on Rise Fitness:
I’ve been a certified personal trainer for over 11 years. However, I didn’t create Rise Fitness and decide to make training a full-time career until I was laid off from my systems engineering position for a government contractor. I was pregnant and had a 1-year-old at the time so there was no chance that I would have stepped away from a stable position at a Fortune 500 with a guaranteed paycheck, unless I was forced to. But it was a tremendous blessing because now I get to do what I love and what I do best: help people get fit, healthy and rise to the best version of themselves!
Guess what…I don’t LOVE working out.
That is probably the biggest misconception people have about me, because I do work out, I do it often and I do it well. But working out is not something I wake up and look forward to everyday.
Why not? I’m Busier than EVER!
I have a husband who’s busy running a business and two small kids whose favorite word is “MOMMY!” I’m running my own business while partnering in another one. I volunteer and I run a ministry. I’m busy. I’m exhausted. And oftentimes it’s quite difficult to muster up energy and time to workout. Can you relate?
But Here’s the thing: I Rise above all that and do it anyway.
So I may not love working out in the moment, but I do love the results and benefits of working out: physical, mental, spiritual! So I do it anyway because without it, my quality of life suffers! So many aspects of our lives are circumstantial and out of our control. Why not take hold of the aspects that we can control and lead a feel-good, healthy lifestyle, even if it means putting in some work. It’s well worth it to me! I want to rise above the exhaustion, the busyness, and the stress to be the best version of me!!

Do you have a goal to lose weight, or gain muscle or compete in a race, or just get healthy, but you’re not quite sure how to get there? I am qualified and passionate about helping you meet that goal. I will create and guide you through a fitness program that will fit your lifestyle and get you results!
For me to successfully guide you in meeting your health and fitness goals, I must have your trust. So authenticity is extremely important to me. As your trainer, I will never have you do anything that I have not done or am not willing to do myself. For example, I love to eat and I have a deadly sweet tooth. Cake is legitimately my favorite food. I’m never going to not eat sweets. Therefore, I would never ask you to not eat sweets, or any food. However, in order to maintain my goals, I understand that I must have an overall healthy diet and only dabble in the sweets occasionally. So although I won’t tell you to completely eliminate a certain food, I will guide you to understanding how to eat according to your goals, which may mean eating a whole lot less of that food.
